MALAYSIA

There is a strong interlink between the country's multi-racial and multicultural make-up and its history. Besides the local Malays and the native groups, immigrants from China, India, Indonesia and other parts of the world have all contributed to the multiracial composition of its population.
Its interesting cultural diversity can be largely attributed to the country's long and on-going interaction with the outside world and colonial rule by the Portuguese, Dutch and the British. Consequently, the evolution of the country into a cultural melting pot is evident in the unique blend of religions, socio-cultural activities and traditions, dressing, languages and food. The country achieved independence on August 31, 1957 as The Federation of Malaya and with the subsequent entry of Sabah and Sarawak in 1963, Malaysia was formed
Malaysia is a nation of diversity in unity where Malays, Chinese, Indians and the indigenous people of Sabah and Sarawak live in cultural harmony. Once you have overcome your jet-lag fatigue, step into the heart of Malaysia-the citizens of the country. You would be pleasantly surprised at the warmth of Malaysians. For deeply entrenched within each of the different race is the engaging charm and traditional hospitality which the country is renowned for. Malaysians enjoy meeting people from other lands. So, do go right ahead and strike up a conversation.
The National Language, Bahasa Malaysia is established as such under Article 152 of the Constitution, which also safeguards other languages by stipulating that no person may be prohibited or prevented from using (except for official purposes) or from teaching or learning any other language. As the national language, Bahasa Malaysia has to be used for official purposes which includes its use by federal and state governments, and as defined by the constitutional amendment of 1971 by all authorities (including local authorities) and statutory bodies. By the same constitutional amendment the status of Bahasa Malaysia may not be questioned, and any amendment to Article 152 can only be made with the consent of the Conference of Rulers.
All of the world's major religions have substantial representation in Malaysia, the main adherents of each largely reflecting the multi-ethnic character of the population. The variety of religions found in Malaysia is a direct reflection of the diversity of races living there. Although Islam is the state religion of Malaysia, freedom of religion is guaranteed. The Malays are almost all Muslims. The Chinese embrace an eclectic brew of Taoism, Buddhism and ancestor worship, though some are Christians. Although Christianity has made no great inroads into Peninsular Malaysia it has had a much greater impact upon East Malaysia, where many indigenous people have converted to Christianity , although others still follow their animist traditions.

Tone of Ska and The Wave

2 TONE

The 2 Tone genre, which began in the late 1970s in England, was a fusion of Jamaican ska rhythms and melodies with punk rock's uncompromising lyrics and aggressive guitar chords. Compared to 1960s ska, 2 Tone music had faster tempos, fuller instrumentation and a harder edge. The genre was named after 2 Tone Records, a record label founded by Jerry Dammers of The Specials. Although 2 Tone bands were respectful to the original Jamaican ska artists, The Specials failed to credit musicians such as Prince Buster, Toots & the Maytals and Dandy Livingstone as the composers of songs on their 1979 debut vinyl release. However, in many cases, the reworking of classic ska songs turned the originals into hits again in the United Kingdom. The 2 Tone movement promoted racial unity at a time when racial tensions were high in the UK. Most of the 2 Tone bands had multiracial lineups, such as The Beat (known as English Beat in North America) and The Selecter.Although only on the 2 Tone label for one single, Madness were one of the most effective bands at bringing the 2 Tone genre into the mainstream.

3rd Wave of Ska

In the 1980s, bands influenced by the 2 Tone ska revival began to form in the United States and other countries. The first well-known American ska revival band was The Toasters, who played in a 2 Tone-influenced style and paved the way for the third wave ska movement. Other notable early third wave ska bands included The Uptones, Fishbone, Operation Ivy, Let's Go Bowling and Bim Skala Bim.
Many third wave ska bands played ska punk and it's subgenre, ska-core. Ska punk took 2 Tone and increased the punk rock elements while ska-core blended ska with hardcore punk. However, some third wave ska bands — such as The Allstonians, Hepcat and The Slackers — continued to play in a more traditional 1960s-influenced style. By the early 1990s, ska revival and ska punk bands were forming throughout the United States and many other countries. An enormous growth of the ska punk genre occurred after the ska-core band Mighty Mighty Bosstones signed with Mercury Records in 1993 and appeared in the film Clueless with their first mainstream hit "Someday I Suppose". No Doubt, Sublime, Reel Big Fish, Suicide Machines, Less Than Jake and Goldfinger also gave the ska genre more mainstream attention. By the late 1990s, mainstream interest in third wave ska bands waned as other music genres gained momentum. Some of the most popular ska punk bands have maintained a steady following in the 2000s, although many of those bands have moved away from their earlier ska-influenced sound to embrace other genres.

Beside that we can identify the causes of behavior by manipulating causes example inputs, the marketers can influence the consumer behavior from the outcomes of the research. From the methods marketers are able to measure objective of the events. The researcher also can recognize the best way to gain an in-depth understanding of the relationship between people and products are by watching them in the process of buying and using the products.
This advantage can get by having the observational research so that the observational researchers can gain a better understanding of what the product symbolizes to consumer and greater insight between people and products that is the essence of brand loyalty. The researcher also gains the customer patterns of information processing through the observation physiological observation devices. By using this method it can benefits firm in terms of more profitable to keep good customer than constantly attract or develop new customers to replace the one who leave. Highly satisfied customers spread positive word of mouth and it effect become a walking, talking, advertisement for a firm and also can lower cost of attracting customers.
The advantages of using this quantitative measuring are sometimes the researcher can’t avoid his self and emotional feelings to get involved in the problems because the observation or research must free from the researcher view. Other disadvantages are the researcher will get the inaccurate data or information from respondent, it’s because sometimes the respondents doesn’t want to answer the questionnaire honestly.
